DHANUSHA DISTRICT

Dhanusha district is in Terai. It is in Janakpur zone. Sirha district in the east, the Mahottari district in the west, Sindhuli in the north and the Indian state of Bihar in the south surround this district. This district has plains in the south and the chure hills in the north. Moe people live on the flat or plain land than on the hillside.
                                                                 Janakpur is abig city. It is the headquarter of this district. The famous Janaki Temple is in janakpur. Thousand of hindu pilgrims from Nepal and India visit this Temple every year.
                 The climate is hot in Dhanusha. It is not very cold even in winter. It is very hot in summer, especially from Baishakh to Bhadra ( May to September ). It gets Monsoon rain from Ashar to Ashoj ( June to September ). Dhanusha is an Agricultural District. Rice and wheat are its main products. Other agricultural products are maize, tabacco and sugarcane. Most people are engaged in agriculture.
                                                                                                                       There are some factories also. The Janakpur Cigaratte Factory is famous in Nepal. A large number of people work in this factory. There are paper factories, ricemills, flourmills, sawmills and cottage industries.
                          There are dirfferent communities living in this district. There are different castes like Brahmins, Rajput, Kayastha, Newar, Magar and Tamang. They speak different languages like Maithali and Hindi. But most of  them speak and understand Nepali. They eat mostly rice and roti.
                                                                                                                Majority of  the people wear plain white cotton clothes (Dhoti) and shirt. Women usually wear sari and blouse. Most of the houses in the villages are small. Some big buildings are also found in the city.
                                              Most people of Dhanusha district are Hindus. They celebrate Dashain and Tihar. The people of Terai also celebrate Chhath. They celebrate Ram Nawami (the birhday of lord Ram) and Bibaha Panchami (the day on which lord Sita was married to lord Ram). There are some Muslims and a few Christains too. Muslims celebrate Id Muharram and Christains celebrate Christmas.
                                                                               In Dhanusha district there are two important rivers,  the Kamala and the Hardinath. these rivers are useful to farmers for irrigating the land. There are big Jungles (forests) in this district. There are Tigers, Bears, Boars, Dears and Leopards in this Jungles. There are also beautiful birds like quails and parrots. There are lots of trees which supply timber and firewoods.
                       Nepal's Government is paying great attention to the development of this district. There is electricity in this district and several services like Schools, Hospitals, Post offices, Telephones and various means of transport are available. There is a Railway line from Janakpur to Jayanagar, at the Indian Border. There is apleasant Bus services to Jaleshwar and other part of the country. There is an Airport also.
   This Dhanusha district is full of Natural biodiversity. There is Greenery all over it and Freshful Environment. This District is most suitable for Visitors.
