FESTIVALS OF DHANUSHA

In Dhanusha district there is a full of Festivals. The people of dhanusha district celebrate many types of Festivals. Some of thwe festivals are as follows;

1) Dashain:

               Dashain is a big festivals of Nepal. It is not only celebrate by people of  Dhausha district only, it is clebrates all the people of nepal. It is the biggest festivals for the people of  Nepal. This festivals is celebrated, because lord Durga had killed a demon named Danasur. She made victory on this dangerous Demon. It is also called Vijaya Dashmi.

2) Tihar:

           Tihar is also second biggest festivals for the people of  Dhanusha district. This fesstivals is also celebrated by all the people of Nepal and India too. This festivals is celebrated, because in this day Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman were comming back from Forest after 14 years by conquiring the powerful demon Ravan, who was the king of  Lanka. On the Welcome of  Lord Ram, Sita & Laxman , this festivals is celebrated. This festivals is also Known as festivals of Light.

3) Chhath:

             Chhath is also one of the important festivals for the people of dhanusha district. This festival is celebrated by the people of terai only. This festivals is celebrated for the Lord Suryadev. Sun is known as Lord Suryadev. It is celebrated on the bank of river or pounds in over night.

4) Holi:

          Holi is the festivals of colours. This festivals is also celebrated all over Nepal. However the people of terai celebrate it very enjoybally. They put different types of colour on the body of  the other people. This festivals is celebrate, because Holika, sister of Hiranayakasyap, is burried over the fire by putting Parlad on  the lap and sat on the fire,because she has power of  not burning in fire. Due to the died of Holika in the fire, this festivals Holi is celebrated.
